OpenCoffee Liverpool kick starts on 19th June

Phil Blything, co-founder of Internet and Marketing Consultancy, Glow New Media has accepted the challenge to run OpenCoffee Liverpool. The first event will run on 19th June 2007. Please register here. The plan is that Phil will run Liverpool events on every 3rd Tuesday of the month, whilst Manchester events will be held on every 4th Tuesday of the month. I hope Sheffield and Leeds will select the remaining two Tuesdays.

  • I’m happy to go with 12th June (the second Tuesday) for this month, but might be more flexible for us if we can switch ’em around too – I’d like to do the first Tuesday in July, but I’m outta the country!

  • Sounds great. The point is these are self-run events, but need hand-holding at the beginning until there is sufficient momentum. Why not run your first one on 2nd Tuesday and then switch to 1st Tuesday’s thereafter, and hopefully 2nd Tuesday will work for Sheffield.

The whole idea behind fixing the Tuesday of the month is that this gives a permanent diary date for each city, so that individuals can decide which event they want to attend.

I also think, unlike London, the organisers of these four cities would need to blog the details of conversations and attendees, soon after the event to encourage attendees to attend OC events ouside their home city.

I am very much impressed with the conversations taking place on OC Leeds on upcoming.org, even before the first event. Perhaps, this is due to your wider targeting. I need to get my around and learn from you!! 😆

This publicity shot is one of the best I have seen in this realm. Who is responsible? A good dynamic image. Congratulations Phil, your photographer / photoshopper knows what he / she is doing.
