FundTech – What analysts said before the acquisition of Accountis

OK, as the title suggests, I thought of capturing the analyst sentiment of FundTech before the acquisition of Accountis. So without further ado, here is a snapshot of analysis from three firms in Jan 2008: D A Davidson & Co BUY. Price on 9th Jan $10.60. Price Targets: 12 to 18 months $18, 5 year $40 Verdict: Target market volatility warrants some cautiousness, but risk/reward better than ever. Lowering estimates, maintaining BUY rating. My Analysis of Analyst: Does not indicate compelling understanding of business proposition. Analysis purely on the back of financials both past and forecasts. Wedbush Morgan Securities BUY.…

The role played by this blog in FundTech’s acquisition of Accountis

Whilst I cannot take any credit for the deal between FundTech and Accountis, I feel exhilarated at the service this blog provided in above acquisition. Here are some clues: OB10 #8 – Ready to be acquired! James Governor # 1 – Learning from a Pro I actually thought there was a blog post giving more clues, but perhaps not! I believe it all started at a pub near Manchester Airport, where I had the privilege to meet a Representative, who came to know me through this blog. We spoke about the industry, why e-invoicing has not taken off as it…

RBS to resell Accountis’ e-invoicing service to corporate customers

Founders, Rhys Jones and others, and new owners of Accountis, FundTech must be so thrilled to finally be able to announce the deal with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Accountis has been working on this deal for many years, which I came to know at least over 18 months ago, but was requested not to blog about it at the time.  The relationship between Accountis and RBS thrived when Accountis decided to use RBS Trust Assured to authenticate the identity of its userbase during e-invoicing transactions. Two key reasons that further attracted FundTech to Accountis other than the team and…

Did Rhys sell Accountis too cheaply?

What valuation would you assign to an EIPP provider? Should this be based on past performance, future potential or a combination of both? If so, was Accountis sold too cheaply to fundtech? Who held the upper hand during negotiations? Or was the shareholders of Accountis too keen to sell and move on? Have they moved on? Will they earn the earn out? Why has they not achieve traction, as most of us expected over the last few years? Was it a handicap been based in the North Wales? Was return on cash burn really a good performance indicator? Where will…

edocr exit party – thank you Manchester

Atlas Bar – all ready and waiting for my guests, the misfits As you probably heard, edocr.com was acquired by Accusoft, Inc in March 2015. Over the years, many friends helped me to setup, launch and keep it growing, especially during the hard times. As a way of saying thank you to them, I held a party on 21st April 2015 at the Atlas Bar, Deansgate, Manchester. We were blessed with the hottest day of the year (so far), and my guests enjoyed a Spring BBQ. As Techcelerate was shut down in early 2013, it was the first time most…

Injustice to EIPP/e-invoicing – lack of coverage

Apologies for the lack of recent coverage on eipp/e-invoicing. Thought leadership cannot be provided without undertaking adequate research. Wouldn’t it be great if document/information search time can be reduced. This is one of the reasons why I founded edocr with Rhys, Mike and Chris. So please upload your press releases, white papers, case studies, product information, etc on EIPP/e-invoicing to edocr today.  Let’s have a quick look at what some of the leading e-invoicing/EIPP providers have been up to recently, starting with OB10 and Accountis: OB10 In April, OB10 reported that their clients have saved 1,123 trees in 2007, 223…

e-invoicing service provider maximising the edocr advantage

Keeping true to my promise, I started a regular e-mail marketing campaign for edocr last Friday. I am yet to start a similar initiative for ebdex. Unfortunately, the SaaS product I used to produce the ezine does not allow me to create an effective pdf for uploading to edocr. I am yet to figure out how to keep a public record of ezines produced for edocr, ebdex and Northern StartUp 2.0. Reaction to eZine In the ezine, I identified four case studies, among them was Crossgate, which has achieved significant success on Google rankings due to uploading a single document…
