My first ever Barcamp – 2 in 1 (Leeds + Ottawa)

BarcampLeeds is almost there, yes it is on tomorrow. This will be my first barcamp and I am really looking forward to it. I have been told that it is an event where you focus less on sales and marketing, but more on open dialogue, perhaps around a common theme. Instead of talking about e-invoicing, I have opted to talk about edocr without actually sounding like a sales pitch. Paul Robinson has helped me greatly to come up with a theme. So here goes… Why Wikis suck for post production environment? Capturing the essence of document interactivity – a paradigm shift! I am yet…

BarcampLeeds on 17th November 07

BarcampLeeds is taking place on 17th November 07, thanks to startup evangelists such as Imran Ali. North’s first Barcamp took place in Sheffield, which I could not attend. Manchester has not yet managed to pull off a Barcamp this year, even though it has been on the agenda and has been discussed many times by North West Digital Community. So what is a Barcamp? According to the official Wiki: BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.…

NW StartUp 2.0 – 3rd Event

As planned, NW StartUp 2.0 event took place on 14th June 2007 at KPMG Manchester. Both Sam Sethi and Alain Falys were unable to attend due to personal and business reasons respectively. This did not have a significant impact on the outcome of the event, as Ajaz Ahmed and David Ingram easily filled the vacuum created by the two missing speakers. This also meant an early night for David Thomas, who was ready to party with Sam till the morning. 44 people registered to attend, including the speakers and organisers. On the day, we had 25 present, a mere 57% of those…
