Seedcamp is another brilliant idea by Saul Klein, the man behind OpenCoffee theme. The idea is to grab the best early stage companies set-up by those novel to startup scene before they get noticed by others – well before they achieve any valuation worth mentioning. Seedcamp targets young entrepreneurs.
Saul has also achieved simplicity again with the programme:
-
Anyone can apply.
-
Intensive week long session for 20 companies – the companies will be exposed to a diverse mentor network of serial entrepreneurs, corporates, product designers, venture capitalists, recruiters, marketing specialists, lawyers and accountants that will help the selected teams put together the foundations of a viable business.
-
At the end of the week, 5 companies will be chosen. ?50K each will be invested for a 10% stake.
-
The teams are expected to camp in London for a period of 3 months, during this period a demo day for other groups (week 6) and a demo day for potential investors (week 10) are planned.
Well done, Saul! And good luck to those applicants. Could something like this be ever accomplished in the North West?
