Rashmi Sinha launches Jaunt with Jon Boutelle and Amit Ranjan.
– 2006 Rashmi, Jon & Amit launched SlideShare.
– 2007 Inspired by her, YouTube and Flickr, I launched edocr.com. Trip Adler launched Scribd, Jason Nazar launched Docstoc all in the same year.
– 2012 LinkedIn acquired SlideShare for $118 m
– 2013 Intuit acquired Docstoc and killed it in less than a year.
– 2015 Accusoft acquired edocr.com from me.
– LinkedIn just sat on Slideshare – shame to have to watch its decline. Once the darling of Silicon Valley and loved by folks like Guy Kawasaki.
– 2020 LinkedIn handover SlideShare to Trip Adler.
– 2024 Dec 11 Rashmi, Jon & Amit launched Jaunt – solving the same problem I, Trip and Jason tried to solve in 2007 but with all the past knowledge in the AI-first era.
I know it’s not my tech startup but I am very excited to see the launch of Jaunt. I love the space edocr.com was in.
edocr.com back-end was coded by Rhys Jones, the co-founder of Wavebox.io and AiBrow, and member of Techcelerate https://lnkd.in/eYd7qKvN
I never had the capital to bring edocr.com to deliver my vision. At the point of exit, it was run by me with Asinsala Silva. Wish I had a bigger team.
I’m solving this wish through https://skilledup.life – we have 53,000 SkilledUp Life Volunteer exclusively for early stage tech startups. Any tech founder can now like he or she is venture backed without external control and having to prematurely dilute founder equity.
They can de-risk their tech startup with the help of SkilledUp Life Volunteers and raise capital for growth – negotiating terms from strength and not weakness.
