Once a global super power, UK’s prominence in the world continue to decline. Then we had the audacity to pull out from the EU further alienating us from our closest neighbours – the EU countries.
We are the best friend of the USA. We rely on them for defence. This means we have no independence to make unilateral decisions. They also screw us on trade from time to time.
The world is fast changing and becoming G7 vs the multipolar world champion by the original BRICS nations.
13 new countries joined BRICS this week. Sri Lanka where I am from perhaps will join at next time round. They aren’t sending their senior team to the Commonwealth annual bash.
New countries that joined BRICS:
- Algeria??
- Belarus??
- Bolivia??
- Cuba??
- Indonesia??
- Kazakhstan??
- Malaysia??
- Nigeria??
- Thailand??
- Turkey ??
- Uganda??
- Uzbekistan??
- Vietnam??
Turkey is the first NATO country to join BRICS?? – Turkey plays on both sides but got fed up waiting for the EU to accept them.
Sanctions have backfired – Strangling on US$ through SWIFT has resulted in acceleration of dedollarization.
There is no hope in hell of us reversing the decline, until, perhaps we accept the reality and then explore how to adjust ourselves for the multipolar world. The sooner we realise the better it would be for us in the long term.
UK media does not cover what happens outside the UK and G7. What’s happening in
Kazan this week is significant. Multipolar world has gained momentum and it’s unstoppable irrespective how hard the G7 is fighting against it.
Just a view point – a weak moment as I don’t speak politics! ?
