LinkedIn Sagas: Connecting for Network effect

Sorry, not for me. Life is too short. I don’t do introductions nor do I ask for introductions. I am only interested in those who connect with me and not their network. Instead of just connecting, give me a quick introduction including your websites, so that I could understand who you are and what you do. Think about this as an elevator pitch (not for investment obviously). I believe this is a good start for any virtual business relationship.

Asked a young chap who just connected with me on LinkedIn and quickly thought I was weird as I wanted to know why he connected with me in the first place. I have a large network. Anyone new added to this network needs to be meaningful. When someone requests to join just because they have mutual connections with me, come from Manchester or in so-called “tech”, that does not excite me.
