Unfortunately I could not attend the 7th Northern Tech Awards held on 22nd March 2018 in Edinburgh. This was the first event I missed in its 7 year history. Now owned by GP Bullhound, it has grown significantly. Congratulations to all the winners.

The categories of awards are all new when compared with the inaugural event in 2011. Then the winners were:
1. Best Northern Bootstrapped Tech Startup 2011 – CapsuleCRM
2. Best Northern Venture Backed Tech Startup 2011 – App55
3. Best Northern ecommerce Tech Company 2011 – MPP Global Solutions
4. Best Northern Enterprise Tech Company 2011 – CapsuleCRM
5. Best Northern Mobile Tech Company 2011 – Apdami
6. Best Northern Consumer Tech Company 2011 – VUME
7. Best Northern Hardware Company 2011 – Thinspace
From those, VUME is no more. ThinSpace was acquired. MPP has grown into a much bigger company and so has Apadmi. Latter has also ventured out by spinning new ventures. They were unbeatable in the categories they contested and collected 6 awards in the first 3 years.
