Introducing Microgen – eBilling or eInvoicing?

The term "billing" is usually associated with consumers, whilst the term "invoice" is used in the context of one business buying services or goods from another business. News Aggregator for Document Exchanges and EIPP

I have been looking for an environment to capture most of the news and blogs on Document Exchanges including EIPP. My prayers (I do not actually pray!) have been answered. Have a look at Zimbio. Ok, I created it, therefore most of the content is from this blog and ebdex’s blog. But I did take the liberty to invite Susan Davies of Accountis to add their blog. I will also invite guys from Ariba and Procuri to add. These are all competitors. I believe we need to join forces to accelerate the acceptance of applications such as EIPP within the…

Mike Arrington fires Sam Sethi for speaking the truth

Mike Arrington, the owner of TechCrunch UK has put the blog site on hold after Sam Sethi reported what he felt about Le Web 3.0. According to Mike, the real reason for firing was that Sam has promoted a series of events without first consulting him. Here is Mike’s story….. Here is an extract of the last post from Sam… “Following yesterday’s post about Le Web and Loic’s retort. It seems Mike Arrington has disagreed with my post and opinion believing my actions to be vindictive towards Loic. What was said between Mike and I will remain confidential but suffice…

Corporate Finance Advice from KPMG

Several years back, KPMG and others used to provide corporate finance advice to Early Stage Businesses (ESBs) who could not afford to pay the fees demanded by the them. In these cases, they settled for a combination of equity and cash. Enron and other events resulted in clamp down of these practices, and the Big Four got cold feet and became unaccessible to ESBs. I am happy to report that thinking within KPMG is changing. As you probably know, I am very keen on creating environments for ESBs to network with Investment Community and Deal Makers. I was promoting this…

Introduction to Oracle Fusion Middleware

Over the last 4 years or so, Oracle spent approximately $30bn acquiring 30 odd companies (talk to Oracle about precise figures). This strategy has helped Oracle to come up with a world beating middleware solution now branded as Oracle Fusion Middleware. Middleware already produces well over £/$ 1bn (not sure about the currency) in revenues. Tags: Oracle, Fusion, Middleware

What is the most suitable standard for document exchange?

XML was born to harmonise the way data was exchanged between different software systems. As soon as it was out of the bag, groups started drafting schemas that addressed their specific needs. One such organisation is BASDA. So, what are the key XML standards used within purchasing and e-commerce today? Can you think of anything more than the followings? cXML – UK government seems to favour this. ebXML – Accountis based their system on this format. Managed by OASIS. eBis-XML – BASDA standard. Currently no support is available (I am sure BASDA would disagree with me on this). eBuild-XML –…
